PACM (Paris Agreement crediting Mechanism)

Article 6 of the Paris Agreement sets out how countries can pursue voluntary cooperation to reach their climate targets. It enables international cooperation to tackle climate change and unlock financial support for developing countries.

The carbon crediting mechanism under the Paris Agreement allows countries to raise climate ambition and implement national action plans more affordably.

JQA, as Designated Operational Entity (DOE), is responsible for PACM-related validation and verification/certification activities.

JQA shall make available internal procedures for carrying out its functions including, among others, procedures for the allocation of responsibilities within the organization and for handling complaints, and the fundamental policy to improve confidence in the PACM Assessment Scheme.
